About PSPO

The Pakistan Society of Pediatric Oncology (PSPO) was established in 2009 by key founders including Dr. Shamvil Ashraf, Dr. Zehra Fadoo, Dr. Asim Belgaumi, and Dr. Mary Taj. It was officially registered as a non-profit organization on October 26, 2009. Its members include professionals from various pediatric oncology-related fields such as doctors, residents, nurses, technicians, and researchers. PSPO is governed by a Board of Directors and has its head office in central Karachi. The Society's vision is to ensure accessible quality cancer care for every child and adolescent.

Our Mission

1. Promote awareness about childhood cancers in medical community & community at large.
2. Create opportunities for training of professionals in the field of pediatric oncology.
3. Develop treatment & diagnostic standards for childhood cancer in Pakistan.
4. Develop robust research facilities in Pakistan in the field of childhood cancers.
5. Establish practice for palliative care of children at par with international standards.
6. Provide quality medical facilities & healthcare at an affordable cost.
7. Set up charity fund for the treatment of children with cancer who cannot afford medical treatment.
