Why We Celebrate Gold September?

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month takes place in September, and it is our yearly opportunity to raise awareness about the effect of cancer on so many children and their families all around the world.

We use gold to honor the fortitude of children with cancer. Participating in this campaign means showing solidarity, standing up, and speaking out for and with children and adolescents with cancer, childhood cancer survivors, and their families.

We have helped raise awareness of childhood cancer through the “Light It Up Gold!” campaign – illuminating iconic buildings and monuments in gold during September. We encourage displaying a gold ribbon prominently on the front of buildings or offices as a powerful symbol of solidarity.
