What is vincristine?
Vincristine is an IV chemotherapy agent that can cause severe tissue damage if extravasated. It slows cell division and is commonly used in combination regimens.

- Numbness, tingling, or burning in extremities

- Voice changes
- Pain when urinating
- Vision changes
- Dizziness
- Seizures
- Hair loss
- Skin irritation at the IV site
- Low sodium levels
- Not all patients experience these effects. Report all symptoms.
Tips for families
- Discuss instructions with the care team.
- Use stool softeners or laxatives as recommended.
- Avoid grapefruit or Seville orange products.
- Inform the care team if sexually active, pregnant, or breastfeeding.
- Review all medicines for potential interactions.
- Protect caregivers and family members from exposure to body fluids for 48 hours after dosing.
